Alamogordo, New Mexico — April 7, 2026 — Dozens of local dogs turned into eager Easter egg hunters this past Saturday as the 2026 Pooch Playoffs wrapped up with a festive, dog-friendly celebration that raised $2,000 for Kitty City of New Mexico.
The event, hosted by Alamogordo boutique photographer Felicia Uribe of Once Upon A Time Photography, combined a fun Easter egg hunt with the crowning of the local Pooch Playoffs champion. Pet owners and their canine companions gathered for the finale of the weeks-long photography bracket competition, where dogs searched for specially prepared eggs filled with treats while the community celebrated the results.
“The energy on Saturday was incredible,” said Felicia Uribe. “Seeing the dogs out there hunting for eggs and watching the community come together to support Kitty City was the perfect way to wrap up this competition. We set out to create beautiful portraits, but we ended up creating a community of pet lovers who truly care about making a difference.”
All $2,000 raised through Pooch Playoffs entry fees will be donated directly to Kitty City of New Mexico, a no-kill cat shelter serving the Otero County area. The funds will help provide essential care, medical support, and adoption services for cats in need

During the ceremony, local champion Buck was officially crowned and will now represent Alamogordo in the national Pooch Playoffs bracket with a chance to compete for the national title.
Uribe created the Pooch Playoffs as a unique, relationship-focused photography experience for local pet owners while supporting a cause close to her heart.
