LAS CRUCES — With violent crime and juvenile offenses rising across New Mexico, the Public Safety Legislative Task Force will convene in Las Cruces on Monday, December 15, 2025, for a full-day hearing aimed at confronting the state’s public safety challenges head-on.
Hosted at the Las Cruces Public Schools Board Room (505 S. Main Street, Suite 249), the session runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public both in person and via livestream. The event will feature testimony from law enforcement officials, prosecutors, educators, and families directly impacted by juvenile crime and systemic failures.

The task force includes State Representative Nicole Chavez, Senator Crystal Diamond Brantley, Representative Rebecca Dow, Representative Luis Terrazas, and Senator David Gallegos (District 39)—all committed to advancing real accountability and real solutions.
