At the District 3-5A Cross Country Championships hosted in Alamogordo, Organ Mountain delivered a commanding performance, sweeping both the girls and boys team titles and celebrating individual champions in Ashley Galaz and Dax Coombs.
Girls Team – District Champions Led by Ashley Galaz, who claimed the individual title, the Lady Knights placed four runners in the top 10:
• 🥇 Ashley Galaz – 1st place
• 4️⃣ Bella Barlow
• 5️⃣ Jaymie McBroom
• 8️⃣ K-Lee Martinez
Their depth and consistency secured the girls team championship, outpacing Alamogordo and Centennial.
Boys Team – District Champions The Knights boys were equally dominant, with Dax Coombs leading the charge as the individual champion. He was joined by:
• 🥇 Dax Coombs – 1st place
• 3️⃣ AP Poppy
• 4️⃣ Beaux Beasley
With three runners in the top 4, Organ Mountain clinched the boys team title ahead of Hobbs and Alamogordo.
But Alamogordo also showed strong in the 3-5A Cross Country Championships held at the Reiner Steinhoff Soccer Complex in Alamogordo, the hometown Tigers delivered a powerful performance.
The girls team placed 2nd and the boys 3rd, earning both squads a trip to the 5A State Meet in Albuquerque next Saturday.
Tigers Rise on Home Course
Girls Team – 2nd Place Finish
The Lady Tigers were led by Addyson Gonzalez, who placed 6th in 22:36.38. She was followed closely by:
• Elizabeth Farmer – 10th (23:13.45)
• Alex Simmons – 11th (23:14.76)
• Nizhoni Castillo – 15th (23:35.70)
• Aurora Van Beusichem – 22nd (24:55.25)
• Julianna Centrella – 24th (25:12.10)
• Jocelynn Pittman – 27th (25:38.35)
• Braylynn Caraway – 29th (26:00.66)
• Kaitlynn Broncheau – 36th (27:04.90)
Their collective effort secured second place behind Organ Mountain, with Alamogordo edging out Centennial for the runner-up spot.
Boys Team – 3rd Place Finish
Matthew Snyder led the boys with a 5th-place finish in 17:28.39. He was backed by:

• Austin Stauffacher – 10th (17:45.23)
• Aaron Borrego – 11th (18:02.04)
• Rylan Maroon – 17th (18:50.46)

The boys team finished third behind Hobbs and Organ Mountain, securing their place at state with a strong pack performance.
Next Stop: Albuquerque
Both teams will compete at the NMAA 5A State Championships on Saturday, November 8 at Albuquerque Academy. The Tigers will aim to build on their district momentum and challenge the state’s best.
