ALAMOGORDO, NM — The Alamogordo High School boys and girls golf teams delivered a dominant performance at Tuesday’s Ruidoso Fall Invitational, held at The Links Golf Course, capturing first place in both divisions and showcasing depth across the leaderboard.
The Lady Tigers posted a team score of 325, led by co-medalists Ellie Clore and Tatum Wright, who each shot 79 to tie for first. Teammates Ava Armijo (83), Annelisia Herrera (84), and Kylee Wright (92) rounded out the top five, securing a clean sweep of the top individual spots.
On the boys’ side, Alamogordo fired a team score of 299, paced by Landon Wright, who tied for first with a 72. Jacobi Saldevar followed closely in third with a 74, while Dyson Wright (76), Andrez Montoya (77), Kolton Stagner (77), and Brody Wright (79) all placed within the top 11.
The Tigers now turn their focus to the Organ Mountain Fall Invitational, scheduled for Monday at Red Hawk Golf Club in Las Cruces, where they’ll face off against top-ranked programs from across Southern New Mexico.
State Rankings & Competitive Outlook
According to the latest data from MaxPreps and the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), Alamogordo’s boys team ranks among the top 10 in Class 5A, with consistent finishes in district play and invitational events. The girls team is also climbing the leaderboard, bolstered by strong individual performances and depth across the roster.
Las Cruces-area schools such as Centennial, Organ Mountain, and Las Cruces High remain formidable opponents, with Red Hawk GC serving as a home course advantage for several of them. Monday’s invitational will be a key test for Alamogordo as they prepare for district championships and the spring state tournament circuit.
