Over a two-week span from September 15 to 28, Alamogordo Police officers responded to a wide range of incidents—from forgery and domestic violence to drug possession, juvenile offenses, and multiple cases of driving while intoxicated. The arrest logs, released by the City of Alamogordo, offer a snapshot of public safety challenges and law enforcement efforts across the community.
Financial Crimes and Forgery
• Glenn and Mary Whisenant were issued criminal summonses for two counts of forgery, conspiracy, and violations involving remote financial services.
• On September 21, officers responded to a forgery report at Lowe’s grocery store. The suspect fled before police arrived, and the case remains under investigation.
Juvenile Offenses and School-Related Incidents
• A 14-year-old male was referred to juvenile probation for cannabis possession at Alamogordo High School.
• Another 14-year-old male was cited for resisting an officer during a shoplifting incident at Allsup’s.
• A 15-year-old male was cited for shoplifting and resisting at Albertsons.
• A 17-year-old male was referred for DWI and improper lane usage.
Domestic Violence and Assault Cases
• Gracie Lucero was arrested for two counts of aggravated battery against a household member.
• Joel Barboza faced charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and unlawful use of a telephone.
• Aaliya Paddock was summoned for battery against a household member.
• On September 20, officers arrested a 16-year-old male for battery against a household member and criminal damage to property.
• Multiple domestic disturbances were reported at Azotea Apartments, with citations issued for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Drug Possession and Controlled Substances
• William Castro was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
• Santiago Chavez faced similar charges, along with a warrant from Chaves County.
• On September 18, a traffic stop led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
DWI Arrests and Traffic Violations
• Jason Powell, Carlie Gardner, and Emmalee Kommer were arrested for DWI. Gardner also faced charges for being served alcohol as a minor.
• A 17-year-old male was referred for DWI and improper lane usage.
• On September 19, officers arrested a 16-year-old male for reckless driving and evading police after a high-speed chase through residential streets.
Unattended Deaths and Welfare Checks
• Three unattended deaths were reported—on Abuelito Drive, Bellamah Drive, and another location on September 26. All cases involved coordination with the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI), and next of kin were notified.
Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, and Public Disturbances
• Sylvia Ward and Sheree McIntire were cited for disorderly conduct and trespassing at Walgreens and Dollar General.
• On September 21, officers responded to a disturbance at the Alameda Park Zoo. No arrests were made, but citations were issued for public intoxication.
