Alamogordo, NM — October 2025 - The City of Alamogordo has officially launched VisitAlamogordo.com, a new digital hub for special events, tourism, and community engagement. The site arrives just in time for a packed fall calendar that builds toward the region’s most anticipated annual celebration: Christmas on MainStreet, returning this December with downtown merchants already preparing storefronts, promotions, and holiday programming.

From food truck festivals and haunted houses to statewide conferences and family-friendly Halloween fun, Alamogordo’s fall lineup reflects a community in motion—celebrating culture, connection, and civic pride.

October 11 – Battle of the Food Trucks

Saturday, October 11 | Noon–6 PM | Washington Park

Round 4 of the Battle of the Food Trucks brings culinary competitors from across New Mexico. Sponsored by TRIA Community Events, Trisha Roberts Insurance, and Future Real Estate, the festival features:

 Food truck showdown 

Live music from Rosewater Blues, Champagne Problems, and DJ Digumsmak

Local craft vendors, beer and spirits, and a kids zone

Categories include Best Barbecue, Best Dessert Truck, and People’s Choice

October 15–17 – New Mexico MainStreet Conference Downtown Alamogordo

Alamogordo hosts the New Mexico MainStreet statewide gathering, welcoming economic development leaders, planners, and community advocates from across the state. The event will spotlight Alamogordo’s downtown revitalization efforts, arts corridor expansion, and community-led placemaking.

October 18 – Thrive’s Corks & Shells Festival

Saturday, October 18 | 11 AM–6 PM | Alameda Park

Presented by Thrive in Southern New Mexico and Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wine, the First Annual Corks & Shells Wine and Pistachio Festival features:

• Regional wines and pistachio-inspired treats

• Local food trucks and artisan vendors

• Live music and community celebration

 October 23–25 & 29–31 – Haunted House at the Civic Center

Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center | 7–10 PM | $2 Admission

This year’s Haunted House promises eerie rooms, dark hallways, and jump scares galore. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are just $2, making this one of the most affordable thrills in town.

October 25 – Zoo Boo at Alameda Park Zoo

Saturday, October 25 | 9 AM–Noon | Free Admission

The City’s beloved Zoo Boo returns with:

• Trick-or-treat candy trail through the zoo

• Costume contests for Scariest, Cutest, and Best Overall (with prizes!)

• Candy booths, food vendors, and family fun

🎄 December – Christmas on MainStreet

Downtown Alamogordo | Date Dec 6th, 2025 4 to 9 pm 

Downtown merchants are already gearing up for Christmas on MainStreet from the 800 to the 1200 Blocks for the region’s largest annual holiday celebration

Expect: 

• Holiday storefront displays and extended shopping hours

• Carolers, food trucks, and family activities

• Special promotions from local businesses and so much more
