The New Mexico State Police Bomb Squad took first place at the 8th Annual National Robot Rodeo (NRR) held August 11-15, 2025, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado.
The NRR is a premier competition where public safety bomb technicians from across the nation and military EOD units from different countries put advanced robotics and unmanned systems to the test in real world scenarios from vehicle borne IEDs and drone operations to hazardous materials and complex clearance missions.
Sponsored by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Sandia National Laboratories, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, and UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, the event brings together top operators, researchers, and industry leaders to evaluate emerging technology and improve public safety response.
Out of dozens of highly skilled teams, NMSP demonstrated exceptional skill, innovation, and teamwork to secure the top spot. This win highlights the dedication of our bomb technicians to staying at the cutting edge of technology to keep New Mexico and our nation safe.
Sunny, with a high of 102 and low of 72 degrees. Sunny during the morning, partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
the long term drought conditions serve to underline the importance of long-term vision and planning to meet future water needs.
any water distribution built with schedule 20 pvc piping, has been "a public utility emergency" since it was constructed. the fact that it lasted as long as it has is incredible.
ultimately the price for poor management practices will be equally borne by every property owner in that community - except those who have private wells, i suppose. but even those folks will have a smaller pool of prospective buyers....makes it sound kinda like socialism doesn't it?
I hope Dr. Hernandez is a guest speaker at an upcoming meeting of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission. She has so much wisdom and experience to pass on to younger generations.
It's the product of living in a lowly bubble: an immature, undeveloped writing style that has no insight or reasonable conclusion. Those PhD's from Watsamatta U in New Mexico are only a union card for activists to rally 'round and a far cry from what $200k a year should buy.
Your excellence at writing a reply show that you are an intelligent and urbane fellow. Whatever, get me my fries bro.
The "mayor" has an office? Everyone sees straight through your P.R. circus. Your lap dog , Old McDonald, is just as half-blind and limited as the rest of us poor ******** scrambling in the real world.
Jones, I hope you get some help with your anger management issues soon.
Obviously you have never met nor engaged with the mayor. She works tirelessly full file research, engaging with constituents and legislators at the state and federal level and with policy experts from DC to New Mexico to learn and better serve her constituency.
I say bring back the Piggly Wiggly.
