Alamogordo shut out Deming 2-0, scoring twice before halftime and getting a penalty-kick save from goalkeeper Noah Mirabal to protect the lead.
Levi Ramirez and Max Cadoret each found the net for the Tigers, and Kyle Tamayo assisted on both goals. Cadoret's goal came in the 31st minute and sent Alamogordo into the break up 2-0.
Deming's best chance to get back into the match came in the 61st minute on a penalty kick, but Mirabal turned it away. He finished with seven saves in the shutout.
The win moves the Tigers to 5-9-2. They play next at Centennial on Thursday.
Football
All three area football teams in action came up short.
Lordsburg 70, Cloudcroft 20 (8-man). The Bears fell to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in district play. Cloudcroft plays next at Mesilla Valley Christian on Oct. 16.
Estancia 53, Tularosa 14. The Wildcats dropped to 4-3. Tularosa hosts Capitan on Oct. 16.
Tatum 56, Mescalero Apache 0 (8-man). The Chiefs slipped to 2-4. They host Mesilla Valley Christian next Friday.
