Commissioner and Mayor Pro Temp, Sharon McDonald’s City Wide community clean up is back again on July 19th, 7 am to noon.
There will be city dump sites around each participating district with a shredder and the main dump site at the Dudley School on Maryland Avenue, Alamogordo.
Dump your junk. Gather all your trash, all your old, unwanted and bulky items and bring them on July 19th to the 6th annual Alamogordo Citywide Cleanup. The ckeanup facilators will have a free dumpster in each district and the American Shredding Company will be onsite at the Dudley Community Center to provide free shredding from 10am to noon.
Dumpster Locations Include:
-523 Maryland Avenue(Dudley Community Center & Maryland Garden)
-The intersection of Indian Wells Road & Scenic Drive
-2201 Puerto Rico Avenue (Alamogordo Senior Center)
-817 N Scenic Drive (New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene)
-Panorama Boulevard (next to Fairfield Inn)
-Walker Boulevard (near the baseball park)
This cleanup is NOT accepting household appliances, cell phones, batteries, electronics, ink cartridges, motor oil, antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, car batteries, or large scrap metal.
If you are elderly, disabled, or otherwise in need of assistance with the cleanup of your property, please call us to schedule assistance and complete the necessary paperwork, including the required waiver forms. This year Commissioner Sharon McDonald and her volunteer partners to include Community Power New Mexico, and a multiple other volunteer partners have been out and has literally passed out thousands of flyers walking the neighborhoods and during the July 4th parade. Sharon and volunteers such as Sheri Edmonds has walked the inner city neighborhoods, Walker Road Area and beyond talking to residents about cleanup and encouraging them to participate.
This annual event is expanded from its origins of just Disttict 5 to city wide. So, save the date and see you there this Saturday.
