To an Alamogordo City Commission Chamber filled to the brim with constituents the Alamogordo City Commission met in regular session and brief executive session on Tuesday completing a plethora of business. The one item on the agenda that drove a large public turnout was a presentation prepared by the Mescalero Apache Tribes leadership of the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

The Inn of the Mountain Gods presented a plan to take over the failed Alamogordo Fun Family Center and convert it into a family fun attraction that would be functional and affordable to the local community. The leadership made a presentation to the commission and the public. The city staff has been working with the Inn leadership for a while to ensure it would be a good fit for resident and recommended commission approval.

The Alamogordo City Commission then voted unanimously to award a management contract to the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

After more than a year since the Family Fun Center closed its doors, the City of Alamogordo is thrilled to announce this exciting new partnership and a plan forward in family entertainment.

The Inn of the Mountain Gods submitted a creative and robust proposal, and we as a community look forward to a productive and rewarding partnership ahead for our community.
