The New Mexico State Police’s South Zone Crime Suppression Bureau announced its agents arrested 20 fugitives in February as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and hold those accountable for the crimes they’ve committed.
Per a release it claims that arrests involved a range of serious offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and many more violent crimes.
On February 6th, NMSP agents, in collaboration with the Las Cruces Police Department, Texas Rangers, and the United States Marshal Service located and apprehended Jesse Antillon in Las Cruces, who was wanted for murder.
On February 13th, the Rio Rancho Police Department contacted the NMSP Crime Suppression agents in Roswell requesting assistance with locating Anthony Perea and Brianna Castillo who both had felony warrants for their arrest for absconding. With the information provided by the Rio Rancho Police Department, NMSP agents, along with deputies from the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, located Perea and Castillo in Vaughn, NM, and arrested them without incident.

Everything in Alamogordo feels fake to me, as if it is some kind of staging ground or network, not an organic community. Since the Manhattan Project, the military has used the town that way, but then there was a hard separation between the base and the town, and maybe that’s where things went sideways.

The corruption which causes reputational damage is too widespread already and is going to overflow into the public eye soon enough. There is nothing anyone, or any group can do to stop it all from coming out. It is not limited to Chamber of Commerce or MainGate, IMO. Its tentacles are choking this city.
this is not an unusual situation involving chambers of commerce - merging government with business interests is nearly as problematic as merging government with churches. either situation places minority stakeholders in positions to manipulate the public's interests.
