Position Overview: The Clerk Administrator is appointed and reports to the Mayor and the four-member City Council and operates under NM Statuary rule. The Clerk will be the administrator in charge of the Village’s daily operations and oversee budgets of about $2,500,000. The Village currently has approximately 10 full-time employees. The ideal candidate will embody leadership qualities that align with Cloudcroft’s vision for growth and sustainability while maintaining the beautiful charm and appeal of a small community.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Management, or a related field is preferred including a certification as a Municipal Clerk

• Minimum of two (3 years of related experience in municipal governance, with at least three (2) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

• Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, and financial reporting.

• Hands on experience in Planning and Public Works, and problem-solving skills.

• Cloudcroft will consider a combination of education and experience that allows an individual to successfully perform the functions of the position.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for the Village Clerk/Administrator position is $65,000-80,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Village of Cloudcroft offers an attractive benefits package, including retirement plans, health insurance, and professional development opportunities, among others.
