Interactive map connects New Mexicans with in-person and telehealth opioid medication-assisted treatment
The New Mexico Health Care Authority has expanded its opioid use medication-assisted treatment (MAT) locator map to include both in-person and telehealth services across the state. The expanded network of MAT health providers and the interactive map can be found at www.doseofreality.com/get-treatment.
“Every day, more people in our state are choosing the road to recovery and finding success with medication-assisted treatment. We want everyone to know that help is available, and recovery is within reach,” said Nick Boukas, Behavioral Health Services Division Director for the New Mexico Health Care Authority. “This type of treatment is customized to each person’s needs and has helped many break free from addiction, offering hope and a path forward.”
Medication-assisted treatment is recognized as an evidence-based and highly effective approach to treating opioid use disorder. By combining FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies, MAT reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms, empowering individuals to reclaim their lives, improve their health, and rebuild relationships.
The user-friendly interactive map is available on the HCA’s Dose of Reality website. Listing 169 treatment centers and 42 telehealth providers. This map allows individuals and families to locate providers offering MAT services.
Community partners and providers are encouraged to share the resources available on the site, which also features a series of testimonial videos from New Mexicans who have found recovery using MAT.
