In a release announcing an arrest by the Alamogordo Police Department they announced that at approximately 5:10 pm on September 19, 2024, officers from the Alamogordo Police Department responded to a reported theft in progress at a business located in the 1700 block of E. 10th Street. Upon initial investigation, it was determined that a male suspect entered the establishment, assaulted the sole female employee, committed sexual assault, and stole money before fleeing the scene.
The Alamogordo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Investigators with the State of New Mexico, Office of the Twelfth Judicial District Attorney responded to the incident per a statement from the APD.
The suspect arrested was identified as 21-year-old Isaiah Rashaun King, an active-duty United States Air Force member. With the cooperation of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and law enforcement personnel from White Sands Missile Range, Mr. King was located and taken into custody.
Mr. King was incarcerated and is being charged with Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Penetration, Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Attempted Criminal Sexual Penetration, Battery, and Larceny. He is being held at the Otero County Detention Center, pending his appearance in Magistrate Court.

As one that hires people here so many don't want to work, are not reliable and lack the skills for manufacturing. Small Military towns most manufacturing companies stay away from as the military is skilled labor but the spouses that would work are too transient.
