On August 22 the Alamogordo police hosted a crime watch meeting admitting to an increase in crime the last year and asking for assistance. Commissioners Sharon McDonald and Warren Robinson were in attendance and the police department will be hosting an additional planning and organizing session in the next month. The police continue to seek information related to the murders of Scotty Bowman and Lyman Douglas Hughes. Any information or tips need to be called into the Alamogordo Police Department.
The 12th Judicial Major Crimes Unit is seeking assistance regarding a recent homicide case that occurred on August 15, 2024.
We are asking residents and business owners to review their video surveillance footage from August 15, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, for a male subject.
This individual may have been walking eastbound in the area between 5th Street to 10th Street and North Florida Ave. to Washington Ave.
Any information or footage could be crucial to our investigation.

Public support with information is needed to solve these two recent stabbing murders.
