The Otero County Detention center has had a history of unrest with a near riot scene occurring in 2017 with several prisoners refusing to follow orders and a lockdown ordered after a large disturbance.
The Otero County Sheriff’s Department confirmed an issue escalated on Tuesday resulting in approximately 14 police units from various law enforcement agencies dispatched to the local detention center to calm issues and to “restore order” to the facility. Additional information has not been released but an inside source who spoke on a condition of anonymity claimed that a fight broke out between elements within the facility and quickly escalated creating a situation of risk for the safety of staff and other inmates thus reinforcements were called in as a safety precaution. No further details have been released and we are awaiting a response and release of information from the Oteto County Sheriff’s office.
What in tarnation does this monkey-shine lady know about our water system? With a B.A. in business from 30 years ago, the story you wrote was that she got elected because she's black. "Historic", you wrote. Like Obama, suddenly every word is gold and every decision for us is the right one.
The way our block sees it is that all these problems are because people who grew up here get elected, and they keep the ones with ideas out so they can pose for pictures or get free tickets. Doing the same thing over and expecting different results is mental illness.
Imagine the internal misery that causes someone to make such a statement about the Mayor and the presentation of facts.
