The Twelfth Judicial District Attorney Scot D. Key announced on April 15, 2024, Twelfth Judicial District Court Judge Daniel Bryant sentenced 33-year-old, Jordan Blake to 55 years in prison for the home invasion of a home on Charlotte Lane in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Prior to sentencing the State filed a habitual supplemental criminal information alleging that Blake had been convicted twice before and he pled no contest to those allegations. As a result, each of Blake’s felony convictions were enhanced by an additional four (4) years.
District Court Judge Bryant sentenced Blake to a total of 65 years of incarceration, suspending 10 years, with a total of 55 years Blake will be incarcerated.
On November 17, 2023, an Otero County jury returned verdicts of guilty against Jordan Blake for two counts of attempted first degree murder; conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated burglary, two counts of attempted aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. The jury trial was three days having started on November 15th.
As reported by AlamogordoTownNews.com in 2022, the events of the home invasion that occurred on June 11, 2022, at approximately 1:00 am when Blake and co-defendant Ricardo Estrada along with a yet to be identified, young female, knocked on the door of the residence and asked if a certain person was present. The female’s inquiry was a ruse in order for Blake, armed with a handgun, to enter the home with the intent to kill a certain male that was, indeed present. Co-defendant Ricardo Estrada, who was also armed with a handgun assisted Blake by watching the rear of the house for anyone fleeing the home.
MCU Investigators have received additional knowledge on the identity of the unknown female and the investigation continues. A total of seven people were in the home at the time of the home invasion. Two of the victims returned fire and more than 40 casings in total were recovered from the scene. Four people were injured in this shooting. The co-defendant, Ricardo Estrada, fired his handgun in the backyard at a victim who fled the home. Those shell casings from the back yard later were matched to shell casings from an unrelated shooting scene on 10th Street a month prior.
Jordan Blake and co-defendant, Ricardo Estrada fled the scene and Alamogordo. Blake was arrested on July 9, 2022, with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service in Las Vegas, NM. Ricardo Estrada was arrested on June 30, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM.
The monitoring of the defendants= jail calls also led to the indictment of Estrada for the 10th Street shooting that occurred on May 14, 2022, and Blake=s conspiring with others to deliver a threatening letter to a witness to dissuade them from testifying at the November 2023 jury trial.
Blake is pending jury trial on the allegations of threatening and intimidating a witness. Co-defendant Ricardo Estrada is awaiting sentencing in this case as he has pled to his involvement. Estrada is also pending trial for the un-related shooting on 10th Street.
This case was investigated by the 12th Judicial Major Crimes Unit, which is comprised of Investigators from the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Alamogordo Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Otero County Sheriff=s Office, and the Ruidoso Police Department.
