Alamogordo MainStreet, in collaboration with the Alamogordo Center of Commerce, the City of Alamogordo, and the SBDC at NMSU Alamogordo, is thrilled to announce the return of the "Shop Small, Shop Local" initiative.

The collaboration cordially invites the public to mark their calendars for the highly anticipated Small Business Saturday, falling on November 25th this year, where they invite shoppers to join the merchants of New York Avenue for a vibrant day of community support.

Small Business Saturday as a Gross Receipts Tax Holiday:

Qualified small businesses have the opportunity to benefit from a Gross Receipts Tax Holiday during Small Business Saturday. This means eligible retailers can sell items "tax-free" from 12:01 am on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving until midnight on the same day. Please refer to NM Taxation and Revenue B-200.3.

Alamogordo's small businesses can actively participate by:

1. Open your business on November 25, 2023

2. Offer promotions at your establishment

3. Decorate your storefront with Small Business Saturday branding to signal your participation

4. Commit to filling out a post-event survey and sharing data
