In addition to the discussion opportunities above an alert went out on Tuesday concerning a potential threat that was made via Snapchat. Per an APS social media release:
“Please be aware, students at Chaparral Middle School have received Snapchat messages talking about a threat of violence. No particular school is mentioned in the threat, but Alamogordo Police Department has been alerted. Alamogordo Public Schools takes the safety of all our students and staff seriously and works closely with first responders. If you have any information related to this, please contact the Alamogordo Police Department.
Update: The Snapchat message being circulated has not been deemed credible at this time. Alamogordo law enforcement continues to investigate. Out of an abundance of caution, extra security will be on the CMS campus tomorrow. Please contact the Alamogordo Police Department with any relevant information.”
