Traffic Alert US 82 by Cloudcroft to Alamogordo Closed

Traffic Alert: per Cloudcroft Emergency Services

..0600 UPDATE: YES,  U.S. 82 iSTILL CLOSED! 

U.S. 82 is temporarily closed between High Rolls and Alamogordo due to a rockslide just west of the tunnel.

Detour to N.M. 244 to U.S. 70. Plan your travel accordingly. Reduce speed and drive cautiously.

Fresnal road is open at this time to light, single vehicle traffic ONLY. No heavy trucks, trailers, RV's, etc. This is subject to change at any time, based on conditions. 

High Rolls Mountain Park Elementary School will be closed today and students will learn remotely today due to a rock slide on Hwy 82.

The High Rolls Mountain Park school bus will be unable to pick up the Chaparral and High School students. They will learn remotely today as well.
