Couy Griffin Court Case Split Decision Tuesday

The various cases or the saga around Couy Griffin, Susan Griffin, Chris Lord, and DeWayne M Braithwaite continued in the courtroom on Tuesday with a bench trial hosted by an out of County Judge since all local judges recused themselves from a Griffin Case.

In a courtroom hearing that was tense and loud at times the ruling favored no one and would be deemed a split decision based on multiple consolidated cases with claims and counter claims.

The trial itself had testimony from everyone and was wearing snd difficult on Couy Griffins mother according to a post trail interview on the streaming broadcast on KRAZY Radio KALHRadio.org.

Last month AlamogordoTownNews.com and KALHradio.org reported on the ongoing saga of a property formerly owned by Cowboys for Trump Founder Couy Griffin now under title of his mother, Susan E Griffin and an occupant of the property, DeWayne M Braithwaite.

In May, a video posted on social media via Twitter on an account owned by Raquel Morris, that showed an arrest, of former Alamogordo County Commissioner Couy Griffin by the Alamogordo Sheriff’s Department. The video was reported filmed by DeWayne Braithwaite. The case around Mr. Griffins arrest is a separate trial that will be a jury trial scheduled for October as a criminal trial.

Todays case was a consolidation of civil cases and what Mr. Griffin describes as a “property owners case against a squatter.”

Title of the property in question is in the title of Susan E Griffin, mother of Couy Griffin and a magistrate judge in Catron County, New Mexico. On 5-8-23 she filed a case M-38-CV-202300191 against DeWayne M. Braithwaite giving a notice to quit and forcible detainer or eviction. The case had several judges recuse themselves and was consolidated into todays trial.

A similar case was also filed M-38-CV-202300222 on 6-1-2023 also assigned to Judge Christopher A Mitchell and consolidated.

All together the actions around this property have resulted in the filing and counter filing of 4 pending lawsuits initiated by the various parties. Stay tuned to AlamogordoTownNews.com and KALHradio.org for updates on the various cases as they are posted and released to the press.

The summary of the judges ruling was, mixed and “Nobody owes anyone anything and let’s get this off the docket. Feel free to appeal as certain elements of the case were not within the magistrate’s jurisdiction.”
