Roman Renteria Named New Principal Chaparral Middle School

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to welcome Roman Renteria to Chaparral Middle School! He will be working alongside Assistant Principal Dr. Ernestine Baca and has spent the last week getting to know the students of CMS.

Roman Renteria has been working as an Assistant Principal of Alamogordo High School for the second time, after retiring from a long and successful career as a school administrator. He was the Principal of Cloudcroft High School for nine years and an Assistant Principal at Alamogordo High School for ten years. He began his career in education as an English/Social Studies teacher at Chaparral Middle School. Roman has a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Language Arts and History from the University of Arizona. His Master of Education in Educational Leadership is from New Mexico State University. Born in Deming, New Mexico, Roman has been an Alamogordo resident since 1968 when his father retired from the United States Air Force and settled here. He is a proud graduate of Alamogordo High School.

Message from Mr. Renteria: “I am so glad to be returning to Chaparral Middle School. I look forward to working with students, parents, and all staff members so we can have a safe and successful second semester.”
