New Mexico's healthcare worker shortage and how to solve it New Mexicans increasingly struggle to access health care due to a growing shortage of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals in the state. New Mexico is the ONLY state in that country that experienced a loss of actively billing physicians (247) from 2019-2024 when the number of doctors were increasing by 44,000 nationally.
To reverse this growing shortage, Think New Mexico published a new report in 2024 proposing a ten-point plan with 20 separate legislative recommendations to make the state a more attractive place for health care workers to practice. These include medical malpractice reform, creating a Medicaid Trust Fund to address our low Medicaid reimbursement rates, repealing the tax on medical services (NM is one of only two states which impose it) and joining all the major interstate healthcare worker compacts.
Our speaker, Fred Nathan Jr., Founder and Executive Director, will provide an update on the progress made toward enacting these reforms during the 2025 legislative session, as well as plans for future action.

Interesting case study would be what, if anything has been to to rehabilitate, help or punish this individual after that many arrests. A society and its citizens have the right to be protected from this kind repeat behavior.
some provision must be made for persons dealing with dual diagnosis situations - both for the public interests, as well as those of the individuals. intelligent treatments are not achieved by simply jailing them.
Whatever has been done, hasn't worked.
impressive self-governing standards, and an interesting report - i am particularly concerned about the degree to which artificial intelligence is being foisted on a public that is both susceptible to being mislead, and largely powerless to determine whether it is presented facts or fictions. glad to learn that your
