Ella Faye (Sanders) Hutchison went home to be with her heavenly Father on May 31, 2026. She was born to Carroll F. and Lorene (Tate) Sanders on May 3, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas. She is survived by her sons, George Ronald Hutchison and Sherri Hutchison, of Capitan, NM, Richard David Hutchison and Sue Hutchison of Collinsville, IL, and Randall Keith Hutchison and Patty Hutchison, of Ruidoso, NM; her daughter, Melody Aldridge and Randy Aldridge, of Morton, IL. Faye was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Garcia, of Albuquerque, NM.
Faye was a lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene, fellowshipping and serving in the churches where she lived through the years in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. She loved to cook and made many excellent meals, but she was known for her “set your mouth on fire” chile pork, as well as her delicious homemade ice cream. Later in life, she became an avid quilter, creating beautiful quilts for many family members, as well as friends. Over the course of her life, she took into her home and cared for one brother and then later, cared for her stepmother for several years. Her caring nature became beautifully evident once again, when, in her retirement, Faye moved to Albuquerque to love and care for her grandniece, Kylie Oliver, from birth into Middle School.
Faye’s lighter side was most evident in how much she loved playing the domino game, 42. She was a relentless partner and adversary. Family get-togethers were a time of food, games, crashing dominoes, laughter, and fun. In later life, she loved to play the board game, Aggravation, and was often more interested in knocking opponents off the board than in winning the game itself.
All of these things are just a small part of why she will be missed by her children, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Angus Church of the Nazarene, in Angus, NM.
Honorary Pallbearers are Shea Hutchison, Brandon Hutchison, Thaddeus Garcia, Kendal Wilson, Gavin Trost, and Scott Caraveo.
