Jesse Edwin Landers, 70, of Alamogordo, New Mexico passed away on May 26, 2026. He was born on December 27, 1955, in El Paso, Texas. Jesse is survived by his beloved wife, Carla Adams Landers, with whom he built a rich life centered on family, hard work, and simple joys. He is preceded in death by his mother, Billie Landers; father, Johnnie Landers; and brother, Tommy.
Jesse devoted 35 years to El Paso Electric, where his steady leadership and calm presence were widely respected. He spent the last 10 of those years as a System Controller, a role that suited his meticulous nature and deep dedication to keeping the lights on for his community.
Family was Jesse’s greatest pride. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Jesse Landers; Steven Roberts and his wife, Danielle; Jeremy Landers; April Demninger; Adam Roberts and his wife, Lindsay; Trish Swepston and her husband, Pete. He was “Grandpa” to Jakob Sanchez, Marcus Sanchez, Alyssa Roberts, Collin Roberts, Clayton Roberts, Taylor Roberts, Emma Roberts, Jackie Swepston, Trenten Swepston; “Great-Grandpa” to Sofia Sanchez and Jayce Sanchez. He is also survived by his siblings, Jimmy Landers, Karen Eilert, and Kaye Daniels.
Jesse’s grandchildren were the light of his life and he rarely missed a moment to cheer them on, brag about their accomplishments, or share a quiet afternoon together. He loved camping under wide western skies, riding his motorcycle on open roads, tinkering and building with his hands, and spending time with friends, often the first to lend a tool, a hand, or a good story.
Those who knew Jesse will remember his easy smile, practical wisdom, and the way he found joy in life’s everyday moments. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched with kindness and reliability.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to honor Jesse by sharing a favorite story, taking a ride, or spending time with loved ones, just as he would have wanted.
