Caroline J. Trenary, 85 years old, passed away peacefully to be home with the Lord on March 9, 2026.
Caroline was born Carole Jean Chaney to Orley and Alma (nee Riley) Chaney on December 28, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the fourth of seven children in the family and was raised in Northern Kentucky. Caroline graduated in 1958 from Dixie Heights High School. She studied secretarial skills such as typing and shorthand. Her first job was with the Credit Bureau in Cincinnati. In the summer of 1959, she met John (Jack) Williams at Rosedale Swim Club. They fell in love and were married in October 1959. The following fall Caroline gave birth to a daughter, Lori Jean Williams Crump, on November 12, 1960, and a son, John Michael Williams, on April 29,1965. Caroline and Jack divorced in 1974. Caroline worked in several dental offices as an office manager and as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Dixion, Tennessee. Caroline went on to live in Charleston, South Carolina; Gillette, Wyoming; Americas, Georgia; Dickson, Tennessee; and arrived in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 2006. Caroline loved butterflies, flowers and the color purple, but she especially loved her family. She made many friends in Alamogordo and was well thought of within the community.
Caroline is survived by her daughter, Lori (Ralph) Williams Crump of Tijeras, New Mexico and her son, John Michael Williams of Park Hills, Kentucky. Caroline had four grandchildren, Jessica Williams of Park Hills, Kentucky; Morgan (Lester) Williams Mariano of Tampa, Florida; Amanda Varner of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and Jeremy Varner of Akron, Ohio. Caroline was blessed with two great grandsons, Jonathan Varner of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Enzo Mariano of Tampa, Florida. Caroline has a sister, Alma Chaney and a brother, Gary (Ann) Chaney, that loved her, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orley and Alma Chaney; her sisters, Margaret Chaney Snavely and Cheryl Chaney Joiner; her brothers Orley Chaney Jr. and James Chaney.
