Doña Ana County Sherriff’s Office Apprehend Alamogordo Shooting Suspect
In a press release from the Alamogordo police department it was reported that a shooting suspect was apprehended with collaboration of the Doña Ana County Sherriff’s Office.
”At approximately 2200 hours on April 17, 2022, Officers and Detectives with the Alamogordo Police Department responded to the 500 block of North New York Avenue in reference to a call of shots being fired. The investigation revealed the suspect, later identified as 57-year-old Octavio Pando of Las Cruces, New Mexico, confronted another male subject during a dispute over a vehicle, and shot the male subject in the leg. Mr. Pando was believed to have fled Alamogordo and went back to Las Cruces.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Pando. With the assistance of the Doña Ana County Sherriff’s Office, Mr. Pando was arrested on the warrant and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle. He was incarcerated at Doña Ana Detention Center to be extradited to Otero.”
