ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — Alamogordo’s growing business community welcomed two new additions this week, with local officials and residents turning out to mark the openings.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Ollie’s, on July 2nd, 2026 drawing a crowd of community members, city officials, and supporters. Mayor Sharon McDonald was on hand to help cut the ribbon, adding a show of city support to the new venture as it officially opened its doors at White Sands Mall.
Meanwhile, on New York Avenue in the heart of Alamogordo’s downtown district, Pink Flamingo Funky Finds held a soft opening, giving shoppers an early look at the store ahead of its full launch. The consignment shop joins a wave of new retail and dining spots that have been opening along the corridor as part of the city’s ongoing downtown revitalization push.

The back-to-back openings reflect a broader trend of new investment in Alamogordo, where MainStreet-driven redevelopment efforts have been credited with drawing new shops and entrepreneurs to the area over the past year. City leaders have pointed to this kind of small-business growth as a key part of downtown’s continued momentum.
Both businesses are now open to the public, with more details on hours and offerings expected to follow as each settles into its new home.
