ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7686 in Tularosa/Alamogordo invites the entire community to join in remembering and honoring America’s fallen service members during Memorial Day weekend.
On Saturday, May 23, starting at 6 a.m., VFW members and volunteers will gather at Monte Vista Cemetery on 1st Street to place American flags on the graves of local veterans. A short ceremony honoring the fallen will follow the flag placement. Participants will then proceed to the VFW Post at 700 Hwy 70 West for a flag retirement ceremony conducted with the local Boy Scouts. A lunch, provided by the VFW Canteen, will be served afterward for all members and volunteers who participated.
The flags will remain in place through Memorial Day as a solemn tribute. On Monday, May 25 at 5 p.m., the group will return to Monte Vista Cemetery to retrieve the flags and perform a cemetery cleanup.
“Join your local VFW this Memorial Day Weekend as we honor our fallen Veterans,” the post’s announcement states. “All VFW Members, Auxiliary, and the public are welcome. This is for the entire community!”
The events align with the VFW’s broader Memorial Day observance, which also includes a service at Monte Vista Cemetery at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23.
Ryan “Check” Nowaczck, Commander of VFW Post 7686, encourages community participation. Anyone wishing to volunteer, ask questions, or assist with the weekend’s activities can contact him directly.

Interesting. One thing I have noticed in this town in the last three decades is that troublesome property or structure issues seem to be resolved by fire…

respectfully, i will once again submit that the death or withdrawal of an established candidate creates a uniquely problematic crisis. the democratic party has responded to this situation in compliance with both new mexico state laws, as well as long-standing party rules
having rules that are not enforced is just like not having rules at all...
i would suggest that the lack of action by the RNC is simple - they are facing the coming rejection of their party by a distinct majority of american voters. america has seen where their dear leader/christian nationalism/heritage foundation intends to take our nati
Similar to the DNC deciding who you are allowed to vote for?
