ALAMOGORDO, NM — This weekend, Otero ARTSPACE at 12th and Indiana invites veterans, civilians, caregivers, and community members to two days of free, empowering programming focused on healing, storytelling, and artistic expression. Sponsored by the Otero Arts Veteran Arts Showcase and made possible by grants from New Mexico Arts and The Sacramento Mountains Foundation, all events are free (donations always appreciated).

Civilian/Caregiver Support — Empowerment Workshop
Open to anyone interested in veteran issues, reintegration support, or caregiving, this workshop offers practical tools and community connection. Registration is optional.
Facilitated by military veterans Jenny Pacanowski and Corinna Brown of Women Veterans Empowered and Thriving (WVET).

Brunch and Empowerment Workshop
“A Guide to Releasing the Story with Breath and Intention”
Enjoy a free brunch while participating in a powerful workshop designed for all veterans and civilians. Learn the importance of Ritual Storytelling — sharing experiences in a safe, intentional way without retraumatizing.
Facilitated by Army veterans:
• Jenny Pacanowski (Iraq veteran), founder and director of WVET, who uses free writing and performance to help veterans process experiences and build thriving daily lives.
• Corinna Brown (South Korea veteran), Vice President, Spiritual Counselor, Master of Ceremonies, and Workshop Facilitator for WVET.

Open Mic: Civilians & Veterans Welcome
Musicians, performers, speakers, storytellers, and audience members are invited to share their voices.
Important Note: Anyone seeking an Open Mic slot must attend the 11:30 AM Brunch/Workshop.
