Alamogordo, NM – April 27, 2026 – Drivers on U.S. Highway 70 should prepare for temporary closures today as Range Control has announced two roadblocks.
The first roadblock is expected to begin at approximately 8:25 AM and last about one hour. A second roadblock is scheduled for approximately 12:25 PM, also expected to last roughly one hour.
Motorists should anticipate delays along Highway 70 and are strongly advised to allow extra travel time or seek alternate routes if possible.
San Augustin Pass and the LC Gate are NOT affected by these closures.
Range Control operations can sometimes shift on short notice. Schedules are always subject to change.

regarding the dispute involving employees at the public owned golf course: authoritarians/conservatives hate unions passionately - they are altogether too independent to fit in with their plans for more complete control. besides, authoritarians need to control patronage to extend their grip.
