Alamogordo, NM – March 7, 2026 – In the world of local high school sports, dedication and skill shine brightly, and this week, the spotlight falls on Bella Romero of the Alamogordo Lady Tiger Tennis team. Sponsored by Tularosa Basin Telephone Company/Tularosa Communications, Inc. and The Winners’ Circle, and hosted by Alamogordo Sports 101.9 1230 AM., the Tiger Athlete of the Week recognizes outstanding student-athletes who exemplify teamwork, perseverance, and excellence on and off the court.
Bella Romero, a senior captain for the Lady Tigers, has been a key player in the team’s lineup, competing in girls’ singles and contributing to the program’s success. As one of the senior leaders alongside captains Tate Westover, Benito Tave, and Talee Westover, Romero has helped guide the team through a competitive season. Her consistent performance and leadership have made her an integral part of Alamogordo High School’s tennis program, inspiring younger teammates and embodying the spirit of Tiger pride.
“Tennis demands precision, endurance, and mental toughness,” said area fitness enthusiast, Rene Sepulveda in a recent team overview. “Bella brings all that and more to every match.” With the season in full swing, the Lady Tigers are gearing up for upcoming tournaments, including potential state-level competitions where they’ve shown strong form in past years.
