Alamogordo, NM – The Alamogordo High School powerlifting teams showcased exceptional strength and depth on Saturday, sweeping both the boys and girls divisions with first-place finishes at the Alamogordo Classic. Hosted at Alamogordo High School, the meet featured strong competition from local and regional schools including Tularosa, Las Cruces, Mayfield, Organ Mountain, and Centennial.
The Alamogordo boys team powered through the competition to secure the top spot overall, highlighted by multiple individual champions and high totals. The girls team followed suit, dominating their division with several first-place performances and consistent scoring across weight classes.
Alamogordo Boys Individual Highlights:
• 114 lbs: Ryan Sebring – 1st (765 lbs total)
• 132 lbs: Damien Moreno – 2nd (815 lbs)
• 148 lbs: DeAnte De La Cruz – 1st (900 lbs)
• 181 lbs: Nathanel Cereceres – 1st (1090 lbs); Keaton Orona – 2nd (1085 lbs)
• 198 lbs: John Hockman – 2nd (995 lbs)
• 220 lbs: Stanley Burton – 1st (1115 lbs); Dominic Padilla – 2nd (1070 lbs)
• 242 lbs: Waylon Skelton – 1st (1095 lbs); Demetrius Wellington – 4th (915 lbs)
• 275 lbs: Jace Monroy – 3rd (1000 lbs)
• 308 lbs: Diego Ortega – 2nd (1125 lbs)
The Alamogordo girls team delivered a commanding performance, with multiple lifters claiming top honors and contributing to the team’s runaway victory.

• 114 lbs: Addison Cisco – 1st (470 lbs)
• 132 lbs: Hailey Evans – 1st (690 lbs)
• 148 lbs: Amani Cosom – 1st (620 lbs); Olivia Morris – 2nd (580 lbs)
• 165 lbs: Lola Carbajal – 2nd (610 lbs)
• 181 lbs: Lelani Youngblood – 2nd (510 lbs)
• 198 lbs: Adalynn Trowbridge – 3rd (615 lbs)
• 220 lbs: Devaeh Joseph – 1st (810 lbs)
• 259 lbs: Daviana Gonzalez – 1st (610 lbs)
• 259+ lbs: Addison Cisco – 1st (690 lbs)
Tularosa’s teams showed solid effort in the meet. The boys finished 5th overall, with standout Hector Saenz placing 5th in the 198 lbs class (850 lbs total). The Tularosa girls took 6th, led by strong showings from Jazmine Sanchez (2nd at 123 lbs, 385 lbs), Raelynn Stephens (2nd at 220 lbs, 585 lbs), Karolrosa Fernandez (4th at 123 lbs, 260 lbs), and Kiandra Legarde (4th at 132 lbs, 455 lbs).
The Alamogordo Classic marks an early-season success for the Tigers as they build momentum toward the NMAA state championships scheduled for April 10-11, 2026, in Rio Rancho. Alamogordo has a strong history in powerlifting, including recent state titles and top finishes, and this meet reinforces their position as contenders in Class 5A.
