Gabriela Eaton, Michelle McKinstry, and Renee French joined fellow Rotarians from across the country in the final frenzy of decorating. Late into the night, surrounded by tens of thousands of fresh roses and natural materials, they added those magical finishing touches—tired but joyful, inspired by the camaraderie and shared purpose.

This year’s parade theme, “The Magic in Teamwork,” perfectly mirrored Rotary’s 2025-2026 message: “Unite for Good.” The Rotary float, titled “Unite for Good,” exploded with color and energy in a lush, dreamlike landscape featuring diverse wildlife—like giraffes, tigers, and more—working in harmony. It symbolized how Rotarians worldwide unite across borders to protect ecosystems, provide clean water, promote peace, and create lasting change

From humble beginnings in 1890—when Pasadena’s Valley Hunt Club paraded flower-decorated carriages to showcase California’s mild winters—the Tournament of Roses has grown into “America’s New Year Celebration,” watched by millions worldwide.

For the White Sands Rotary Club, this was more than a parade—it’s a shining example of #PeopleOfAction and #AlamogordoProud in our own backyard, extending their service from local projects in Alamogordo to the global stage. As the float glides down Colorado Boulevard today, it carried a piece of Alamogordo and New Mexico pride and the unbreakable spirit of unity
