Otero County friends and families, if you’re still hunting for those perfect last-minute gifts, our reinvigorated Alamogordo MainStreet district on historic New York Avenue is calling your name today – thru Christmas Eve! With limited hours at most spots, this is truly the final countdown to support local merchants, artisans, and small businesses that make our community special.

The buzz is all along the beautifully refurbished blocks, from the newly refurbished 800 and 900 areas up to the vibrant 1200 Block at New York Avenue and White Sands Blvd (right across from Wells Fargo). These independent shops are pulling out all the stops with specials, handmade treasures, and that genuine Alamogordo hospitality.

On the 1200 Block across from Wells Fargo head over to Our Little Country Store on the 1200 Block – open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an incredible 20% off storewide! Owner Cindy Nowaczck’s cozy spot is packed with primitive Americana, farmhouse décor, seasonal candles, and unique finds that scream heartfelt holiday giving.

Right nearby, the 1200 Block Pop-Up Emporium is your go-to for one-of-a-kind, locally crafted goodies: stunning handmade jewelry, creative junk journals, knitted items, wood crafts, and so much more from talented Otero County artisans. This seasonal showcase (next to Our Little Country Store) is the perfect place to find something truly special and support our creative community

On the newly refurbished 800 and 900 Blocks, Mia Collectibles at 800 New York Avenue is open noon to 5 p.m. with 20% off storewide today only – a treasure hunter’s dream for antiques, retro finds, and nostalgic gems.

Down the street, Victoria Alamogordo on the 900 Block has festive Christmas candies and tins at 50% off, plus specials throughout their charming boutique filled with unique gifts.

Be sure to check out the new Blessed Memories Boutique a few doors down from Victoria

Don’t miss the showcased deals at other favorites like Roadrunner Galleria – always a hub for local artists, fine crafts, and eclectic surprises

And for those sweet finishes to your holiday table, grab freshly baked treats from Infinity Sweets and MoniCakes – get them while they last, because these local bakers’ creations disappear fast!

Most area merchants are wrapping up early today with limited Christmas Eve hours, so bundle up, bring the family, and make it a point to shop local on Alamogordo’s historic New York Avenue. Every purchase keeps dollars in our community and supports the hardworking folks behind these small businesses.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars: Alamogordo’s popular Ghost and History Tours begin again in January 2026. Email for details and reserve your spot to explore the legends and spirits of our downtown!
