Alamogordo, NM — November 22, 2025. The streets of Alamogordo around the Tays center at Scenic are alive this morning as hundreds of runners gather for the annual Lady of the Mountain Run, a beloved tradition that blends athletic challenge with community spirit. Starting at the Tays Special Event Center on Scenic Drive, participants are tackling distances ranging from the half marathon (8:00 a.m. start) to the 10K and 5K (8:15 a.m.), and the 1-mile fun runs (8:30 a.m.)

This year’s event continues its mission as a fundraiser for needs-based scholarships at New Mexico State University–Alamogordo (NMSU-A). Organizers proudly note that past runs have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the scholarship endowment, directly supporting local students in pursuit of higher education in Alamogordo.
