ALAMOGORDO, NM — The Alamogordo Police Department responded to a wide range of incidents during the week of October 27 through November 2, 2025, reflecting persistent challenges in public safety across the city. The week’s activity included multiple arrests and citations for assault, juvenile misconduct, drug and alcohol violations, property crimes, and outstanding warrants.
Assaults and Domestic Violence
Officers investigated several cases of assault and battery, including domestic disputes, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and assault on peace officers and healthcare workers. These incidents occurred in both residential and public settings, prompting arrests and summonses.
Juvenile Offenses
Juvenile-related incidents included shoplifting, possession of explosives, battery against household members and school employees, criminal damage to property, tampering with evidence, and concealing identity. Youths were referred to the Juvenile Probation Office or taken into custody depending on the severity of the offense.
Drug and Alcohol Violations
Multiple individuals were arrested for possession of controlled substances. Several DWI arrests were made, some involving reckless driving and firearm-related charges. In most cases, suspects were booked and released on recognizance or held pending court appearances.
Property Crimes and Theft
Shoplifting was reported at several retail locations, including Dollar General, Walmart, and Lowe’s. A vehicle theft and a burglary at a storage shed were also reported. Criminal damage to property—ranging from fire-related incidents to vandalism—resulted in citations and arrests.
Trespassing and Warrants
Trespassing arrests occurred at various locations, including private residences and businesses. Several individuals were apprehended on outstanding warrants for prior offenses, including failure to appear and probation violations.
