ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The 2025 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Class A-2A State Cross Country Championships brought together the state’s most determined small-school athletes for a day of grit, grace, and celebration at Albuquerque Academy. While Pecos and Oak Grove Classical Academy claimed the team titles, runners from Cloudcroft and Mescalero Apache represented Otero County with pride and perseverance.
Cloudcroft Bears Finish 20th in Boys Team Standings
The Cloudcroft High School boys cross country team capped off their season with a 20th-place finish in the A-2A division, showcasing depth and commitment across the roster.

Mescalero Apache Athletes Deliver Strong Individual Performances
Mescalero Apache High School was represented by two standout runners. Gavin Castillo placed 50th in the boys race with a time of 18:49.60, while Amaylia Smith finished 42nd in the girls division, clocking 23:39.60.
