Alamogordo High School’s boys and girls golf teams claimed top honors at the Hobbs Fall Invite this past weekend, each securing first-place finishes at Rockwind Community Links in Hobbs, New Mexico.
The boys team posted a combined score of 303, led by senior Landon Wright’s impressive 69, earning him the individual title. Teammates Kolton Stagner and Dyson Wright tied for second with matching rounds of 74, while Jacobi Saldevar (79), Andrez Montoya (81), Ethan Shaffer (88), Brayden Bass (88), and Brody Wright (89) rounded out the team’s strong showing.
On the girls’ side, Alamogordo tallied a team score of 355, with Tatum Wright leading the field at 83. Annelisia Herrera followed closely with an 86 for second place, and Ava Armijo secured third with an 87. Ellie Clore (99) and Kylee Wright (100) also placed in the top ten, helping the Lady Tigers clinch the team title.
The Wright siblings—Landon, Dyson, Tatum, and Kylee—were instrumental in the dual victories, continuing a family tradition of excellence on the fairways.
Both teams will travel next Monday to compete in the Clovis Fall Invite, where they’ll face off against top programs from across the state. The tournament is expected to be held at Colonial Park Golf Course, with tee times beginning in the early morning.
