Foster Poultry Farms, LLC has issued a nationwide recall of approximately 16,000 pounds of frozen chicken corn dog products due to potential contamination with extraneous materials, according to a public health alert from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The affected products were shipped to retail stores across the country, including New Mexico, and may be present in local freezers. Alamogordo residents are urged to check their pantries and refrigerators for:
• Foster Farms Honey Crunchy Corn Dogs• 1.83-lb packages
• Labeled “Best By” date: April 23, 2025
• Lot code: 123223
• USDA mark of inspection: P-276
The recall was initiated after a consumer reported finding a piece of metal in one of the corn dogs. While no injuries have been confirmed, FSIS classifies this as a Class I recall—indicating a high health risk.
Local grocers and food safety advocates are encouraging residents to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase. FSIS advises consumers not to consume the recalled items and to contact Foster Farms for refund information.
For Alamogordo families, this alert is especially relevant as Foster Farms products are commonly stocked in regional supermarkets. The City’s Health and Safety Office recommends checking with local retailers for shelf removal updates.
