Alamogordo High School’s varsity football team has surged into statewide prominence, continuing with a coveted Top 10 ranking in the NMPreps Week 6 standings following a decisive 34–14 victory over Organ Mountain as a part of its Homecoming week. With a 4–1 record, 1-0 i. District and growing momentum, the Tigers are no longer just contenders—they’re part of New Mexico’s elite.

This season’s rise is more than a scoreboard story. It’s a reflection of legacy, leadership, and the affirmation culture that’s been quietly building across Alamogordo athletics this season. From the coaching staff’s disciplined approach to the players’ grit and growth, the Tigers are writing a new chapter—one rooted in history and driven by heart.

As reported by 2nd Life Media Alamogordo Town News, standout performances from senior quarterback and free safety Nathanael Best, who has accumulated over 900 total yards and five touchdowns, and junior wide receiver Tristan Bowman, who averages over 39 yards per kickoff return, have helped fuel the Tigers’ success. Defensively, Bryson Bloom leads with 8.5 tackles per game, while Samuel Strong has contributed two interceptions, showcasing the team’s depth and versatility.

Head Coach AJ Cisco, supported by assistants has cultivated a program built on consistency, accountability, and affirmation. “We’re not just coaching football—we’re coaching character,” stated a team leader Friday night

Alamogordo’s climb into the Top 10 places them alongside perennial powerhouses such as Las Cruces, Cleveland, Volcano Vista, Centennial, and Artesia. Las Cruces remains undefeated at 5–0 after dismantling Hobbs 52–13, while Cleveland rebounded with a 42–17 win over El Paso-Pebble Hills. Volcano Vista rolled past Eldorado 35–7, Centennial edged Carlsbad 21–20, and Artesia lit up Gadsden 35–7 with trademark offensive firepower.

With community support, coaching legacy, and player leadership converging, the Tigers are proving that belief, preparation, and Tiger pride can turn a program into a powerhouse.

This team reflects the heart of Alamogordo—resilient, unified, and ready to rise,” said a school spokesperson echoing the sentiment shared throughout the city’s Homecoming celebrations.
