RIO RANCHO, N.M. — The 2025 Rio Rancho Jamboree, one of New Mexico’s most prestigious cross country meets, brought together elite programs and rising contenders from across the state. With over 50 schools competing, the event served as a key preview for the upcoming state championships—and Alamogordo’s Tigers held their own against top-tier competition.
The Alamogordo Boys placed 15th in the Championship Division, while the Alamogordo Girls earned a 9th-place finish in the Varsity Division, showing depth and resilience on a fast, technical course.

• Billy Romero (Taos) – Boys Champion (15:40.8)
• Carmen Dorsey-Spitz (Moriarty) – Girls Champion (17:25.7), finishing over a minute ahead of runner-up Ensley Jorgenson of Los Alamos.
State Outlook Heading into Finals
With the state meet nearing, the Jamboree results offer a clear glimpse of the frontrunners:
• Los Alamos Girls remain dominant, with depth and consistency across all divisions.
• Rio Rancho Boys, led by strong pack running, are emerging as the team to beat.
• La Cueva and Cleveland continue to challenge in both boys and girls divisions, showing strength in individual placements and team scoring.
• Alamogordo, while outside podium contention, is building momentum. Elizabeth Farmer’s top-20 finish and Snyder’s leadership on the boys’ side position the Tigers for a strong district showing.

Alamogordo heads to Roswell next Saturday for the Pecos Valley Meet, a key regional test before district and state competition.
