The New Mexico Department of Health has issued a public health order to help ensure all New Mexicans can access the COVID-19 vaccine. The order is NOT a mandate to force the vaccine but a mandate to allow access and available vaccine for any New Mexican seeking the updated vaccine offered.
The order comes in response to some pharmacies announcing they cannot administer the vaccine in New Mexico unless recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), an advisory group to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has yet to convene and act on the matter. The order directs New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) to work with New Mexico’s Board of Pharmacy to remove potential barriers and ensure access to COVID-19 vaccines at pharmacies across the state.
This week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the updated COVID-19 vaccine formulations, although with a narrower range than prior seasons. The state expects the updated COVID-19 vaccine to start arriving in New Mexico within the next few weeks.
“It’s important for New Mexicans to know the New Mexico Department of Health is committed to keeping residents safe as we enter the 2025 – 2026 respiratory virus season,” said Health Secretary Gina DeBlassie. “This order will remove obstacles to vaccination access.”
There are no issues with pharmacies administering the influenza vaccine in the state as the ACIP has recommended that vaccine for persons aged six months and older.
A copy of the public health order is available on the NMDOH website.

two very difference visions of what our government should look like, and how it should function...one is, go along to get along - the other says search for the truth. it is past time for the truth to be told, to not spare the horses, to let the chips fall where they may.
whose side are you on?
I thought I read here that John Block sux ****? That's not cool. It's a sin.
A sin? According to whose invisible friend? Yours? Those aluminum cans are calling.
block is JAR - just another republican - co-operating to "block" the evidence that their dear leader was involved in plenty of the nastiest of the epstein shenanigans. i can only hope that the survivors, and the public, live long enough for the truth to be revealed.
I think I read here a month ago that John Block sux cokc? That's not dignified of our leadership. It's a sin.
Sunny, with a high of 101 and low of 69 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear for the afternoon and evening,
this minimizes the effect of using ai specifically to mislead, or give the appearance of truth to falsehoods - and that is a use which we cannot afford, and should not condone...

this situation reflects the fact that doing everything on the cheap, and only using band-aids when problems arise - and problems ALWAYS arise - is going to end up just like this. people who ignore REALITY wind up needing CHARITY to solve the problems that they crea
We appreciate that Mayor McDonald is being proactive on the water infrastructure issue. We feel there may be a reckoning regarding the water issue in the Southwest in the not too distant future. We also appreciate the informative reporting. Keep up the good work!
Wow Stu! Spoken like a person that never got punched in the mouth and it shows. Secondly, I’m not sure proactive is the right term when you state after years of neglect. Does this mean water infrastructure becomes a priority or attempts at Natatoriums and pretty signs?
We need a qualified person, not someone who ran on race.
You said so many important things here, and I really commend you for your strength and dedication to advocate for these important issues. It is especially important for those impacted to have their voices heard. Thank you.
