Alamogordo High School’s Tiger Stadium has undergone a significant upgrade with the installation of a brand-new, state-of-the-art artificial turf field that will be seen by the public for the first time this Friday night. The field features a non-traditional gray color as a tribute to fighter jets, and it’s designed to be less hot than traditional green turf. The upgrade is nearing completion and will debut during the Tigers’ home opener against Roswell on August 29, 2025, at 6 p.m. Tiger Stadium, located at 103 Cuba Avenue in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

The stadium has a capacity of 5,667 and also hosts track and field events with the track named in honor of Coach Bob Sepulveda, The stadium is now open to the public during non-school hours for community access to the track and field.

Expectations for the 2025 Season

Heading into the 2025 season, the Alamogordo Tigers are expected to be competitive in District 3, with a focus on pushing for playoff contention

The team brings back significant experience, including key players who contributed to strong rushing performances in recent games. Preseason previews highlight a manageable schedule that could allow the Tigers to build momentum, with returning talent on both offense and defense. Standout prospects like those seen on the road this weekend add to the optimism. The team will need to navigate tough district opponents like Las Cruces and Carlsbad. Overall, expectations are for an improved showing over last season, potentially aiming for a winning record and postseason play.
