Alamogordo High School MESA Field Trip, HOSA Students Learn New Techniques
On November 7, with the invitation of NM MESA, Alamogordo High School MESA students embarked on an enriching field trip to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum and enjoyed a campus tour at New Mexico State University.
During their visit, students gained hands-on experience and deepened their understanding of agriculture's vital role in daily life. They explored how agriculture contributes to food and fiber production, supports the economy, and ensures access to safe, affordable products.
The trip emphasized the value of merging advanced research with interactive learning, making agricultural education engaging and accessible. This experience was an inspiring look into the power of agriculture to shape a sustainable future, motivating students to explore how science and innovation drive progress in this essential industry.
Last week, Alamogordo High School students in the Human Anatomy and Physiology lab immersed themselves in wound-suturing techniques under the guidance of their teacher, Mr. Russel Hortilano.
The students demonstrated their proficiency by executing precise suturing techniques and gained an understanding of the importance of accuracy in wound closure for optimal skin recovery. This hands-on lab session allowed them to further develop their skills and deepen their knowledge of the human body. The activity's success was credited to the backing of administrators and the Science Department.
Mr. Hortilano extended his appreciation to them for their valuable support in enriching the students' educational journey.
