Ozzy Osbourne died on Tuesday and Alamogordo remembers the rock legend along with his wife Sharon for their visit to Alamogordo for a filming of their reality show with them on the road exploring America.
Ozzy during that visit was treated to the hospitality of then Chamber of Commerce leader, GB Oliver. The Oliver family made sure our community put its best foot forward and after the broadcast Alamogordo temporarily got s huge lift in tourism by those fans wanting to follow Ozzy and Sharons footsteps.
In 2018, Ozzy Osbourne along with his wife filmed an episode of his A&E reality TV show, “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour,” in Alamogordo. According to the city, he and his kids, Jack and Kelly, fell in love with the community, so he applied to be a member of the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce.
“The Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome Ozzy Osbourne as our newest member,” the Chamber of Commerce posted in March 2018.
Ozzy posed for a picture with the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce who seemed more than happy to accept his application. Ozzy and family visited the White Sands National Park, shopped downtown and mingled with locals. He was hosted along with his family at the Oliver ranch.
“I wanted to ask Ozzy Osbourne to join the Chamber of Commerce and the producers kind of laughed and said it’s up to him,” Oliver said. “After they finished filming a camping scene, the producers said Ozzy wanted to see me in his RV. Ozzy told me he appreciated all this and how pretty it was out here. I said there was only one thing he had to do now and that was to join the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. Without hesitation, he said ‘done,’ and signed the card.”
Ozzy Osbourne, along with his children Jack and Kelly, in addition to visiting Alamogordo they visited Hatch, New Mexico, for an episode of their A&E show, "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour". The family enjoyed green chile cheeseburgers at Sparky's, and Ozzy also sampled a chocolate chile milkshake. The visit included a mariachi band performance of Ozzy's song "Paranoid".

Mariachi Welcome: A mariachi band from Las Cruces, Mariachi Aguilas, greeted Ozzy with a mariachi version of his song "Paranoid". Ozzy Osbourne expressed his love for a chocolate chile milkshake during his visit. Season 3, Episode 4:
The visit was featured in the fourth episode of season three of "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour," which also included stops at White Sands National Monument and Alamogordo.
Beyond Hatch: The Osbournes also made pit stops to make roasted nuts at Pistachioland and chainsaw art in Alamogordo.
Osbourne passed away Tuesday at age 76. Less than three weeks before, rock royalty opened for Osbourne, who headlined an all-day music festival held in his home city as a way to give the rock legend a proper farewell.
