On October 25th, 2024, the New Mexico State Police conducted a traffic stop on a panel van I-25 near milepost 146 due to the vehicle having the registration plate displayed upside down. The officer made contact with the male driver. During the traffic stop, the officer was able to see hands holding onto bars attached to the interior side of the windows leading the officer to believe there may be occupants inside held against their will. Eventually, the driver admitted to having people in the back of his van, as he stated he was paid to transport the undocumented individuals. United States Border Patrol arrived to assist NMSP and discovered 29 individuals inside the van.
The driver and the undocumented individuals in the vehicle were turned over to USBP where they were booked and charged.
Near Alamogordo New Mexico a child’s life put in peril as the smuggler attempted to circumvent a USBP checkpoint as reported by the USBP.
Alamogordo BP Agents disrupted the smuggling scheme, apprehending 20 migrants.
With the support of CBP Air and Marine Operations, STN agents apprehended 1 USC driver and 3 migrants attempting to escape using a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). UTVs are increasingly being used in smuggling schemes to camouflage and avoid detection.
Mobile Response Team (MRT) BP Agents provided aid to a migrant who had fallen from the border wall. American Medical Response (AMR) arrived and transported subject to the hospital.
Santa Teresa BP Agents apprehended a Honduran national who was convicted in Georgia for Statutory Rape. Migrant will be remanded pending criminal proceedings.

El Paso Station BP Anti-Smuggling Agents collaborated with El Paso Police Department in disrupting a stash house rescuing 20 migrants. Smugglers continue to overcrowd and prioritize profit.

El Paso Station BP Agents and the El Paso Police Department apprehended 21 migrants entering the U.S. illegally via a storm drain. The dark, hazardous tunnel, filled with unknown dangers, could have cost them their lives.
