Tularosa Boys & Mescalero Apache Girls Basketball Girls Remain Undefeated! Regional High School Sports Roundup

Alamogordo Boys Baseball began the season with a double header tonight.

Sadly, Santa Teresa defeated Alamogordo 14-10 in Game 1 of the doubleheader. 

In Game 2 of the double header the Alamogordo Boys continued to struggle and Chaparral defeated Alamogordo 4-1 in Game 2. 

The Alamogordo Tigers are 0-2 as the season begins but have time to rebound as their next play doubleheader is scheduled to be at Silver on Saturday.

In other area sports basketball season is in full swing in the odd post Covid-19 abridged season.

Boys Basketball Roundup:

Tularosa defeated Cloudcroft 56-29.

Israel Ortega led the Wildcats with 14 points, Travis Henderson had 12 and Colton Gilliland with 11.

The Wildcats continue undefeated with a record of 5-0 and will play at Capitan on Monday.

Chase Alvord led the Bears with 10 points, Brad Lynch and Elijah Gutierrez each with 7. The Cloudcroft Boy Bears drop to 2-3 record and they will play at Hatch Valley on Saturday.

 Mescalero Apache Boys Basketball team defeated Lordsburg 64-28. 

Ray Dolan and George Rocha each rocked it with 24 points to lead the Chiefs, Duncan Balatche had 9. 

Chiefs are now 5 wins and 1 loss and they will play at Cloudcroft on Monday.

Girls Basketball Roundup: 

The Tularosa Girls Basketball team defeated Cloudcroft 44-43. 

Haylee Hill led the Lady Cats with 18 points, Hailey Duran had 10 and Ray Ann Chavez with 8. 

The Tularosa Lady Cats are now  1 win and 4 losses. They will play at Capitan on Monday.

Jesse Watson led the Cloudcroft Lady Bears with 10 points, Paulina Paulik had 9, Tylie Eamello and Kaylee Hickman each with 8.  The Lady Bears drop to 3-3 season so far and they play at Hatch Valley on Saturday for their next game of the season.

Mescalero Apache Girls Basketball defeated Lordsburg 48-39. 

Tunte Baca again led the Lady Chiefs with 16 points, Samantha Kazhe had 11 and Madisyn Yuzos with 9. 

The Lady Chiefs continue their role as undefeated with 6-0 record so far this season. They will play at Cloudcroft who is running a 3-3 season on Monday.
