Rachel Hall , 32, of the New Mexico State Police was booked into the McKinley County Adult Detention Center early Friday morning on DWI charges.

After being charged the New Mexico State Police initially placed Officer Hall on administrative leave.

Following the DWI arrest of former NMSP Officer Rachel Hall, NMSP Chief Troy Weisler has issued the following statement:

"I was extremely disappointed to learn one of my officers had been arrested. Officer Hall was immediately placed on administrative leave. She chose to resign before an internal investigation could be completed. I remain committed to holding all my officers accountable for their actions. Her conduct does not reflect the values and integrity that define a New Mexico State Police officer, and I am deeply troubled by her conduct and this breach of public trust. The actions of Officer Hall betray the professionalism and dedication shown by members of our agency daily. NMSP remains steadfast in our mission to serve and protect the State of New Mexico with honor and integrity. Those who dishonor this badge have no place in the State Police."

Hall is accused of nearly hitting another vehicle and a light pole. Law enforcement officers caught up to her and allegedly had to pull her from her vehicle to arrest her.

According to a New Mexico State Police Spokesperson, Officer Hall was with the department for four years and eight months prior to her resignation.
