Bear Grass Fire Update Near La Luz 100% Containment, Damage Revised Down to 3 Acres

Friday evenings Bear Grass Fire that was roaring during heavy winds and fear of spreading has now been 100% contained. Due to the dedication and aggressive efforts of a team of professional and volunteer firefighters around La Luz that battled the fire event it is now 100% contained and the damage has been revised downward to 3 acres. 

Per a Saturday Update by the Tularosa Dispatch Authority, fire crews worked overnight and have contained the fire. The evacuation standby has been lifted.  Fire crews will continue to stay in the area today to mop up and monitor for any hot spots.
